Dreaming of White Christmas - Treasury

It is brrr cold and storm is about to hit us in NJ with 6-12 inches of snow. When I woke up this morning, Treasury was just about to open so I managed to grab one.. As you can imagine White Christmas is in my mind, so here is the Treasury :)

Treasury Update, Camera and Light box update..

In last 3 days, my designs have been included in 3 different Treasuries. Lately I haven't been checking Craftopolis website for Treasury updates but last friday I did and surprisingly I was in 2 Treasuries at the same time. Today I checked again and I am featured in one :) It is great honor to be included in Treasury!!

To tell you the truth, I haven't been too happy with my photos lately. In summer, I use to take photos outside in the natural light. But its been getting very cold here in east coast now and by the time I come home from work in the evening, its already dark outside so taking good photos is a constant struggle.

I have been thinking of creating light box for very long time when I saw discussions about people getting great results from home-made inexpensive light box.

Finally I got to create one last weekend. I used this tutorial as my base but there are many good tutorials with pictures online. I used tracing paper instead of fabric as stated in tutorial.

And I also got my first Digital SLR camera - Canon T1i last week:) Its really fun playing with the new toy :) For me, its a big upgrade since all this years, I was using simple Canon 5 Mega Pixel Point & Shoot camera for all my photos.

The listings featured in Treasuries were one of the first ones taken with new camera and using light box. Although I am not very comfortable with all the settings yet and have a lot of learning to do, I guess it is kind of working :)

Etsy Front Page, Feature on Scrapscene.com and few more Amy Butler Post It Note Holders..

So yesterday I was just casually checking the stats of my shop at around 1:15PM on majaba.org now craftcult.com ( a site to check Etsy shop and item hearts ) and saw that I had 10 new shop hearts in just one minute so immediately I knew something big had happened. I checked the item hearts and found that the Amy Butler Danmask Post It Holder that I had listed just sometime back had 132 hits.. I knew either someone has put me in Treasury or something but then I never had so many hits even after being featured in a Treasury.. I was wondering and went on Etsy homepage and what I see is that the Danmask Post It Holder is on the Front Page of Etsy. I was over the top and could not believe my eyes!!! I was doing a happy dance :) The page was curated by Admin based on Recently listed items. Here are some screenshots of it :)

Another good thing that happened 2 days back was when I had a Flickr Mail from Angie from Scrapscene.com who wrote to me that she wanted to feature Zebra Print Post It Holder ( the one that I shared with you in the last post ) in one of the articles that she is doing on Scrapbooking Trends. I was very pleasantly surprised to find my calendar featured in this lovely treasury - Holiday Cheer. I was just browsing through the treasury lists to check the number & expiry time to see if I can curate one myself & came across the little yellow star on the list which means your listing has been featured in this treasury :) Its always nice to find unexpected surprises :)

It is so much fun to feature other talented artist's items on Treasury. I will definitely grab another one whenever I get a chance.

I use Firefox browser and wasn't sure how to take Full Screen shot as the end was getting chopped out with regular F11 screenshot command. I found a cool plug-in called "Fire Shot". It captures entire page and then you can copy/email/upload the page as per your liking. Thought to share it with you all :)

My First Time in Treasury on Etsy

This morning I got an email from this kind lady heartlandart notifying me that she has got a treasury called "We're all hoping" and she included my "Hope" album in it.. This is my first time in a Treasury!! Its not even a month that I started selling on Etsy and I got featured in it, it totally made my day :)

For those who don't know what is a Treasury, here is the explanation from Etsy help page -

The Treasury is a member-curated gallery of short-lived lists of 12 hand-picked items each (plus four alternates). It functions as a high-demand (and pretty!) promotional tool that many devoted Etsians fight to get. Members can feature their favorite items, items selected on a theme, or just however they like. The Treasury is not intended for self-promotion, but instead to acknowledge and share the many cool things for sale on Etsy.
