Birdie Acrylic Tag Album

I thought to share another creation using the same papers as Princess - Basic Grey with you all.

This is Acrylic Tag Album. Acrylic albums first came out last year and I was one of the firsts to jump into this newest trend.

The difficult and most interesting thing about acrylic is its transparecy due to which embellishments can be seen on both the sides. So while designing these albums, you have to keep in mind that how it will look from the back side of the pages.

I have designed many acrylic albums which I will share with you one by one.

Today I present this "Birdie" Tag Album -

Princess Paper Bag Album

I am partially biased with girly/feminine themes. I love that I can have so many options to play with different textures, fun themes, prima flowers, ribbons, swirls and so on.

I chose 6" x 6" white paper bags instead of brown which gives it such a rich look.

I used lots of goodies on the cover of this album - quilting papers with machine stitching, stamping, butterflies, pom pom trims just to name a few. To add that extra sparkling touch, I applied Stickles on stamped swirls. Did you notice the cute little butterfly ready to fly away ;)

Many find stitching quite intimidating but I find machine sewing more convenient than gluing each mat down. And the stitched page gives an added dimension to the album so I tend to do lot of machine stitching in most of my pieces.

Oh, I went to Michaels yesterday after a long time. I am trying to use up my stash first but I had a 40% off ENTIRE Purchase coupon with me, should I say anymore ;) Totally put a big dent on the wallet ;) hahaha.. and the best part is everything is organized and put away to their respective places :)

About this Blog!

I am starting this blog to share my creations and ideas with others and keep a journal of work that I do.

Scrapbooking for me started with an idea to put vacation photos in a book and gradually it became more than just a hobby. It has become passionate and creative outlet for me now.

My interests keep varying ( from mini albums to 12x12 albums, from acrylic to paper bag, from inking to sanding and everything in between ) as I am always eager to learn new techniques, tryout new ideas. I keep discovering new things and evolving myself more and more into this craft with each day passing.

I consider this blog as different form of a scrapbook where I plan to document my creative journey :)

Thank you for stopping by and taking time to read my blog! Your comments, feedback, suggestions are always welcome and well appreciated!
